 Saint Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church

Southport, North Carolina

Welcome to the Saint Peter Church Web Site!

We are glad you stopped by to visit our site.  We have prepared this site with some basic information about our congregation.  Of course, we hope that you will visit us in person to worship with us.  We always have visitors so we know you will not feel out of place.  And we think we welcome visitors in a warm and caring way.

We worship through Word and Sacrament

We are a church that is firmly focused on worship that is centered in the Word of God and the Sacraments of the Church.  Each Sunday, the Lord's Day, we gather together to celebrate the Word as proclaimed in the Bible readings, in the meditation by the pastor, in hymns and choir anthems as well as in our children's Gospel time.  Then we lift our hearts in thanksgiving together as we celebrate the Lord's Supper, the Holy Communion.  We use several settings of the liturgy throughout the church year and are always open to new ways to celebrate the life of Christ among us.
Our choir is first rate and our Director of Music is the reason!  We have choirs at both services (check out the current service times on this site) and an incredible pipe-organ that fills the sanctuary with something akin to surround-sound!

We study to be Disciples of the Lord

We gather for Christian Education, for children and adults, on Sundays as well as other times of the week.  We always have some form of Bible Study going on so people can jump in when they are able.  Each Summer we have a great week of Vacation Bible Adventure open for our children and any children in our community.  We hope and expect that people will desire to know about their faith in a deeper sense so that they may be more faithful followers of our Lord.

We are Servant People

Most of all we have wonderful people, gifted and talented, that have come from all parts of the country.  They use their gifts in service to God and to those in our communities in many ways.  We are always happy to have others work with us in serving big and small tasks at church and by doing a myriad of things to help kids and adults in our county.

We welcome you to join us in our Saint Peter Church's life of worship and service as we seek to honor and love the One who loves us so much, Jesus, our Friend and Savior.

In Christ,
Pastor Joe Tursi
